Our Story and About Us

TheraChance Australia was founded with one purpose — to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we support.

We believe that quality therapy starts with genuine relationships, built on trust, understanding, and collaboration. Every client’s journey is unique, and our role is to empower them to reach their goals through compassionate, evidence-based, and family-centred care.

Founded by Occupational Therapist Nikohla, who moved to Australia in 2021, TheraChance was born from her vision to create a service that prioritises people — both clients and therapists. Having witnessed how high caseloads and KPI-driven systems can compromise the quality of care, she set out to build something different — a service where the wellbeing of clients and therapists are equally valued.

In 2023, with the support of Zel, who now manages business operations, TheraChance Australia officially launched as a therapy service that brings flexibility, collaboration, and heart into everyday practice.

TheraChance operates under a hybrid model, offering therapists the opportunity to work as subcontractors or part-time/full-time team members ensuring every therapist can provide their best work while maintaining balance and growth. Our team receives ongoing supervision, mentorship, and professional development to ensure the highest quality of care for our clients.

At TheraChance, we believe that when therapists feel supported, clients thriveand that’s the balance we continue to nurture in everything we do.

Company Services

Occupational Therapy

Our Services Include:

- Ongoing Mobile & Telehealth Therapy (Infant to Geriatric) We provide goal-oriented, evidence-based therapy tailored to each individual’s developmental stage and functional needs. Our mobile and Telehealth OTs work collaboratively with families, educators, and support networks to enhance independence in self-care, play, learning, and community living. Sessions can be conducted in person or online, ensuring flexible and accessible service delivery across metropolitan and regional areas.

- Functional Capacity Assessments

Our team conducts comprehensive Functional Capacity Assessments (FCA) to evaluate an individual’s daily living skills, mobility, and support requirements. We utilise standardised assessment tools such as the Sensory Profile, Adaptive Behaviour Assessment System (ABAS-3), SPM-2, and other validated measures. These assessments inform NDIS funding applications, plan reviews, and goal development.

- Home Modification Assessments

We specialise in Home Modification Assessments for NDIS and My Aged Care participants. Our assessments identify environmental barriers and provide evidence-based recommendations aligned with Australian Standards (AS 1428.1) to promote safety, accessibility, and functional independence at home.

- Assistive Technology Prescription & Support Letters

Our experienced OTs assess, trial, and prescribe Assistive Technology (AT) — including mobility aids, adaptive equipment, and environmental controls. We prepare support letters and detailed justification reports for NDIS and My Aged Care funding, ensuring that each recommendation meets scheme requirements and client goals.

- Supported Independent Living (SIL) & Daily Living Support

We assist participants in developing essential skills for Supported Independent Living (SIL) — such as personal care, domestic management, budgeting, and community participation. Our approach empowers individuals to live independently and confidently within their chosen environment.
